Scope of the project:
This purpose of this project is to access, troubleshoot, and document the primary applications and internet web services. The engineer will perform an end to end application analysis from client to server to database and evaluate application effectiveness through the various service tiers which involve: Thin clients, Microsoft IIS web sites, Microsoft IIS web services, Microsoft windows based CICS application services, oracle database services, sql server database services, custom device interfaces, and external application links. the end results of this analysis is to document the application systems, identify weak areas, recommend corrective actions in both the applications and the services involved, work directly with engineers to implement recommended actions. the primary goal of this project is to improve the overall stability of the systems and improve system availability, reliability, and maintainability.
This engineer will be required to work with both Microsoft and IBM representatives during the course of this engagement to efficiently resolve system level issues. This contractor will report directly to the application systems manager during the course of this engagement.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze the application and web service applications
2. Take the lead in analyzing and trouble-shooting assigned system problems
3. Provide daily and weekly status of findings, actions, and recommendations
4. Analyze system failures and recommend additional analysis steps or solutions. analyze effectiveness of those solutions.
5. Document and diagram the application and web application systems
Required skills:
· IBM CICS on windows architecture and programming.
· CICS Cobol architecture and programming.
· Microsoft .net architecture and programming .
· Web base user interface programming.
· Web service architecture and programming.
· Windows workstation programming and programming against device driver APIs. IIS architecture and programming.
· Application programming against oracle databases.
· Application programming against sql server databases.
· Business to business web service interface architecture.
