Firewall Network Engineer

This position is seeking a strong Network background with Firewalls and VPN administration, management, support, and installation experience. This position will require primary strengths with Cisco and Palo Alto, strengths in F5 LTM and Zscaler support desirable.

This Network Engineer position is focused on planning, designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco Firewalls for 25 agencies within the State of Wisconsin's enterprise. Experience in providing network services for the following; Cisco ASA, CISCO FWSM, CISCO VPN concentrators, CISCO CSM, Palo Alto WildFire, Palo Alto Content Filtering, and Palo Alto Pan-DB, with Cisco Layer 4 Load Balances, F5 LTM, and ZScaler support should complement your skill sets. In this position you will work with teams to achieve deliverables, communicate with customers and track completion dates for internal and external customers.

Candidate will be required to successfully pass a federal criminal background check. Contracting firm will be required to perform a criminal background check prior to an official award of the contracting position.

This Network Engineer position is focused on planning, designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco Firewalls for 25 agencies within the State of Wisconsin's enterprise.  Experience in providing network services for the following; Cisco ASA, CISCO FWSM, CISCO VPN concentrators, CISCO CSM, Palo Alto WildFire,PaloThreat Protection, and Pan-DB URL filtering, with Cisco Layer 4 Load Balancer, F5 LTM, and zscaler support should complement your skill sets. In this position you will work with teams to achieve deliverables, communicate with customers and track completion dates for internal and external customers.

Candidate should have 8 years of the following general technical skills:

• Strong configuration skills with Cisco Firewalls – ASA, FWSM, CISCO VPN and ASA VPN, Cisco CSM and Palo Alto Wildfire, Palo Alto Threat Protection, and Pandora URL Content filtering.

• Extensive experience with design, installation, configuration, and support of multi-tenant firewall configurations (firewall virtualization)

• Extensive experience with design, installation, configuration, and support of high availability firewall topologies (active/active and/or active/standby clusters)

• The candidate will have extensive experience implementing specific Cisco Firewalls rules using CSM and ADSM.

• The candidate will have extensive experience implementing routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) on firewalls and routers.

• Experience in large enterprise and data center environments supporting enterprise design, development and installations of Firewalls, content filtering, and reverse proxy.

• Complement skill set with experience in design and implementation of URL filtering on next-generation firewalls.

• Expertise in implementation of large enterprise wide infrastructure environments.

• Demonstrates a working knowledge of network field concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Strong understanding of Network Topology.

Candidate should have at least 8years of experience in the following business processes: 

• Incident management of network, troubleshooting application outages and Ability to manage incident tickets and customer requests

• Excellent organization, analytical, and communication skills with Experience in Technical Writing and Documentation

• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation as needed

Duties can include any and all of the following:

• Monitor and assign requests through a centralized ticket management system

• Ability to communicate with internal and external customers as required to keep them informed on incidents and requests

• Communicate customer notifications for changes and agreed outages

• Facilitation and coordination of current and future initiatives implementing

• Enterprise infrastructure and datacenter planning, answering technical questions, & providing technical documentation, strategic initiative diagrams, and communication strategies to senior management.
