Job Title:  Business system Analyst

Mandatory skills: Financial Services experience, best if someone has experience with Securities Operations, even better with Reference Data , Asset set up experience. Strong market data experience – will work with Bloomberg and Reuters data.

Experience with Asset Control or competing products.

Role summary:

Under limited supervision, is responsible for requirements, analysis, design and functional architecture. Involved in managing projects, training, support and implementation of applications.

Primary responsibilities/essential functions:

•        Partners with clients to define scope and objectives based on business needs and thorough understanding of end-to-end business processes. o Contributes to discussions and forums for the creation and execution of business and technology roadmaps and overall product management.

o   Leads requirements gathering sessions to evaluate and document existing business processes and future business needs for medium- to large-sized efforts.

o   Works with business users and IT management to define business cases based on defined scope.

o   Examines industry directions and trends and makes recommendations for ways to improve business processes and technology effectiveness.

o   Facilitates the evaluation of complex business processes and future business needs to identify opportunities for improvement through the use of technology, including re-engineering business processes.

o   Solves complex business problems through root cause analysis techniques.

o   Integrates all aspects of business systems analysis and design to meet business requirements overall product solution.

•        Works with development, engineering, and quality teams to drive solutions by communicating requirements and participating in complex systems/software design and architecture, prototyping and testing.

o   Manages end to end product needs and solutions for business areas. o Translates complex business needs into functional and non-functional requirements including logical data models, reports and UI, and needed prototypes.

o   Contributes in technical design sessions to ensure technical architecture will address current and future business needs.

o   Evaluates solution alternatives including build, leverage and buy options and provides recommendations.

o   Analyzes complex data and system needs for development work.

o   Works with VMO and other groups to manage vendor relationships, SLA development and monitoring understanding vendor capabilities.

o   Understands industry perspective on cloud computing and security standards for viability and recommendation of product solutions.

o   Participates in the assessment of technical complexity and feasibility of integration implementation options.

o   Adheres to reference architecture standards and integration assets in proposing solution alternatives.

o   Works with appropriate team to perform test planning and participates in the preparation of functional test cases.

o   Performs and documents functional testing to validate business requirements and to verify build quality.

•        Manages projects and software releases and overall product quality delivery. o Monitors, controls and manages overall project execution, including budget, scope, structure, schedules, processes and resources.

o   Coordinates team and stakeholder communications, including compiling agendas for standing meetings, creating project communications, status reports and facilitating project meetings.

o   Manages project risks and issues.

o   May engage with external vendors for the delivery of technology or services.

o   Participates in the creation of the business case and project proposal.

•        Serves as escalation support for systems/applications, and leads the development of user documentation and delivery of user training as needed. o Acts as a subject matter expert in the functional areas of the business, understanding workflow, data and supporting systems/applications to provide support to both the business and IT.

o   Leads root cause analysis and provides recommendations for solutions of complex incidents.

o   Manages, prioritizes and maintains the product backlog of defects and enhancements.

o   Leads the development and execution of user documentation, training strategy, train the trainer and support for change management activities with the business.

•        Provides support and leadership in advancing the skill set and improving team practices and processes.

o   Identifies opportunities to enhance team practices and processes and drives adoption.

o   Collaborates with team members and mentors less experienced BSAs.

o   Attends industry forums and participates in internal communities of practice and/or user groups.

o   Assists in facilitating and promoting organization change.
