Responsibilities

• Build and implement front-end web applications and back-end services that integrate with other products.
• Interact with clients both within and across the firm (including counterparts in Retail & Wholesale Banking, Risk, Digital/Mobile)
• Validate requirements and system design
• Automate and streamline existing processes, procedures, and toolsets
• Ensure code paths are unit tested and defect free
• Participate in full integration testing
• Rapidly address issues and fix defects discovered during deployment

 Qualifications

• Strong Java, Python, Ruby and/or other functional programming skills
• Experience with JavaScript web application frameworks (e.g., Angular, jQuery, Backbone or Ember)
• 2-3 years of solid system development experience leveraging a variety of the following technologies:
• Web Development: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, XML
• J2EE Technologies: JSP / Servlets, EJB3, JMS, JDBC, JMX, JMS
• Web Services: SOA, XML, XSL, SOAP, REST, Spring MVC, Spring Boot
• Application Development: Python, Java, Ruby
• Application Design: Model-View-Controller (MVC), Object Oriented, RESTful services / APIs
• Data-Layer Development: MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL
• Hadoop: HDFS, Hive, Spark, HBase, Impala, Apex
• Sound understanding of continuous integration & continuous deployment environments
• Proven proficiency with XML, Tomcat/JBoss, Apache, Web Services, SOA and other distributed technologies and architectures
• Solid understanding of application program interfaces (APIs), messaging software and interoperability techniques and standards
• Knowledge of SQL and ETL concepts is a plus
• Strong analytical skills with a passion for testing
• Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
• Team collaboration maintaining exceptional code, architecture and documentation
• Detail oriented with a commitment to innovation
• History of open source contribution is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree is a plus
